PERUM PERURI was founded on September 15, 1971, and is a combination of two companies namely PN. Pertjetakan Kebajoran or PN. PERKEBA, and PN. Artha Yasa. The establishment is in accordance with Government Regulation No. 60 of 1971, subsequently amended by Government Regulation No. 25 in 1982, later amended by Government Regulation No. 34 of 2000 and refined for the last time through Government Regulation No. 32 of 2006.As per Government Regulation Number 32 Year 2006 on top, the Republic of Indonesia Perum Printing Money (PERUM PERURI) is given the duty and authority to print five flagship product, the money of the Republic of Indonesia that includes banknotes and coins, passports RI, excise ribbons, seals and certificates ground. Each product is printed by Perum Peruri have special traits that gave priority to security aspects, since the document is very vital state documents. Therefore, Perum Peruri always focusing on the elements of security or security features on each of the print product.
Perum Peruri is the Indonesian state banknote/security printers and mint, established on 15 September 1971 through the merger of state mint Artha Yasa and state printers Pertjetakan Kebajoran (aka Perkeba).
Printers Pertjetakan Kebajoran had originally been established with assistance from Dutch banknote printers Joh. Enschedé. The company's name is short for 'Perum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia'; i.e. 'Republic of Indonesia Money printers'
It has offices in Jakarta, Karawang and Surabaya, with marketing and administrative functions taking place in Jakarta, and printing and minting occurring in Karawang and Surabaya.
